I created my website years ago so that it could reflect community news, and I could update residents of Ward 4 with my own thoughts on issues. After 3 years, it has been converted back into a campaign website. You will find where I stand on issues, and what my vision is for Calgary. For new residents of Ward 4, I have worked hard for all Calgarians and I hope in the coming months that I earn your trust on October 16 th . All communities that are on the East side of Crowchild Trail are now in Ward 4.
I was first elected to represent Ward 4 and Calgarians in 2013, and it has been a truly humbling experience. When people come to you with their issues, and for some you are their last resort, it truly is a humble experience. I worked long hours to make sure they have the support and resources they need to succeed and overcome their challenges. I have pushed myself, my office staff, and City Administration to think differently and to treat every resident not as a #311 number, but as someone with a face, a story, and their concerns are real and need to be respected.
That drive to make sure people are cared for, also drove me to ask the tough, and for City Administration, uncomfortable questions. Often times it did not make me popular with some of my colleagues, or City brass, but I was not elected to please them, I was elected to make sure I have your back and your wallet. Politicians have a bad habit of forgetting it does not matter which pocket in your pants they go for, you only have one wallet. Every ‘pet project’ a politician seeks to do, is a $100.00 coming out of your wallet. If you vote for me on October 16 th I will keep being your voice on Council. I will be door knocking nonstop over the summer to meet with as many of you as I can. I have never stopped door knocking after being elected in 2013. Many politicians seem to get trapped in the bubble of City Hall, and start speaking in the royal ‘We’ – there is no we, only us as citizens, and our issues are the same and door knocking has kept me humble, and kept me focused. There is no varnish at the doors, only the hard truth of what matters to you.
Please read my platform, my vision for Calgary, and if you would like to talk to me, please contact my team and they can set up a time for me to call you, or grab a coffee on me.
