Elections Signs

By September 5, 2025No Comments
Signs will be popping up soon on public land. There are rules regarding where and how large they can be. If you think one is breaking the rules, you can call 311, but check here first or call the campaign.
General rule: 2m from any road edge; 30m from ANY intersection, and main roads like Shaganappi BLVD, schools, bus stops are a no-go for signs. #yycvotes

Roadside campaign signs

All roadside campaign signs must comply with The City’s Temporary Signs on Highways Bylaw 29M97 (Section 8). If you have concerns about roadside campaign signs, please contact 311 or submit online.

Campaigning in or near a voting station

Voters have a right to vote in an environment that is protected from outside influence. Campaigning, advertising or influencing votes in and on the property surrounding a building used as a voting station is not allowed. If you have a concern about campaign activities occurring in or on the property surrounding a building used as a voting station, alert the voting station staff, contact 311 or submit online.
