We are still years from finishing the entire Deerfoot Trail upgrades, but we do have an update on Ward 4 affected areas. #yycroads
11 Street N.E. / Beddington Trail N.E.: This interchange and roadwork connected 11 St N.E. to westbound Beddington Trail, and to northbound Deerfoot Trail in 2024. The additional northbound and southbound lanes on the Deerfoot Trail mainline, up to Airport Trail, is being completed in the next few months, together with the related stormwater improvements, final signage adjustments, and landscaping.
McKnight Blvd N.E.: Work to reconfigure the interchange and improve east Deerfoot ramp geometry and the related signals is continuing. The additional northbound and southbound lanes from 64 Ave to Beddington Trail, and the related peripheral work is anticipated to be completed by late fall 2025.
64 Avenue N.E.: Work was completed in 2023 to add an auxiliary lane between McKnight Blvd N.E. and 64 Ave N.E. and reconfigure the exit ramps from northbound Deerfoot Trail (to eastbound and westbound 64 Ave N.E.).
16 Avenue N.E.: Work to add an auxiliary northbound ramp lane between 16 Ave N.E. and 32 Ave N.E. as well as additional northbound and southbound lanes from Memorial Drive N.E. to 32 Ave N.E. is anticipated to be completed by late fall 2025.
