Calgary Transit are making changes to bus routes starting on August 31st.

This upcoming service change will restore much of the service that was reduced in May due to the impacts of COVID-19. In addition, school routes that are normally removed during the summer months will be re-introduced.

These service changes will help with the projected increase in ridership and keep customers well connected throughout the city. Highlights of the service changes include:

  • Increased frequency
  • Extended service times
  • Returning to four-car service as demand increases
  • Re-introduction of cancelled routes

In conjunction with these service changes, we will be removing the limited capacity on our vehicles to a full seated load starting August 17. This will help us be more cost effective in delivering service while reducing the number of customers having to wait for another bus due to limited capacity. The mandatory mask bylaw will help customers feel safer on transit and our heightened sanitization and cleaning processes will remain in place.

For the 2020/2021 school year, service for most schools will remain the same as previous years. My Executive Advisor will be following up with your staff to share specific information that pertains to communities in your ward.
