I am pleased to tell residents of Cambrian Heights that after talking to the City that,

“the land use designation is formally on hold and will not proceed until further notice from Parks, The April 13 deadline was the deadline for comments on the specific land use change. Planning will continue to collect comments until that date as some stakeholders may still be preparing comments and if is fair to collect those comments until the previously posted deadline.  All comments relative to land use planning will be collected by planning will be saved and included in any subsequent report to CPC and Council should this re-designation move forward at a future point. The engagement to be conducted by Parks on a yet to be determined date in April and May will continue and be specific on the options for alternative off leash sites nearby as we discussed earlier, and will also be included in any future report to Council.”

I will be working with administration to make sure that engagement process for these type of land changes is improved, so that the community residents are not caught off guard. I will always support the community and thank you to all the residents who emailed and called my office. Stay tuned for more information. The information session is still on May 9th.
