No Wednesday cart collection on New Year’s Day

By December 29, 2024No Comments

The City of Calgary is reminding Calgarians to check their cart collection schedule to avoid any disruptions in service during the holiday season. This year, close to 180,000 households with Wednesday cart collection will be affected by changes to the holiday pickup schedule.

Holiday cart collection schedule changes:

  • Wednesday Jan. 1 collection moves to Monday, Dec. 30.
  • Regular Wednesday collection resumes on Jan. 8.

Note that only Calgarians with Wednesday blue, black and/or green cart collection are affected by this change. Households with collection on other days will continue to have their carts picked up on their regular schedule.

Check your collection schedule:

  • Stay updated on schedule changes and set reminders by signing up for free at calgary.ca/collection.
  • Download the Calgary Garbage Day app to view your collection schedule anytime, anywhere and set notifications to remind you of your collection days.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping Calgary reduce, reuse and recycle right this holiday season. Calgarians can learn more about holiday waste tips at calgary.ca/holidaywaste.
