Construction Notices – Deerfoot Trail Improvements (deerfootimprovements.ca)
With North Deerfoot Trail Improvements construction well underway, here is an update on the north Deerfoot Trail work (between Memorial Drive and Airport Trail N.E.), being led by Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (ATEC).
11 Street N.E. / Beddington Trail N.E.: Connecting 11 St N.E., westbound Beddington Trail, and northbound Deerfoot Trail to add capacity and improve traffic flow through the area and adding an additional northbound and southbound lane to and from Airport Trail N.E. Completion is planned for summer 2025.
McKnight Blvd N.E.: Reconfiguring the interchange, improving east ramp geometry and improving signalization. This will improve traffic flow and eliminate the current McKnight Blvd N.E eastbound weaving conditions. Completion date is late summer 2025.
64 Avenue N.E.: An auxiliary lane was added between McKnight Blvd N.E. and 64 Ave N.E. and the exit ramps from northbound Deerfoot Trail (to eastbound and westbound 64 Ave N.E.) were reconfigured. This work was completed in 2023.
16 Avenue N.E.: Adding an auxiliary northbound ramp lane between 16 Ave N.E. and 32 Ave N.E. and adding an additional northbound and southbound lane from Memorial Drive N.E. to 32 Ave N.E. to improve capacity and road safety.
