The Election Calgary office will list all polling locations in the fall. They often do not change so if you voted in 2018 Olympic Plebiscite, or the 2017 Election, you will likely be voting at the same polling station as before.
What you need
Government Issued ID
You must have Government issued ID to vote and have resided in Calgary for 6 months. See list of acceptable IDs.
Voter Information Card will be mailed to you
Elections Calgary will also send each household a voter information booklet with all candidate’s information, and where to vote. You will also receive a VOTE-AT card that will tell you where you vote, and where Advance Polls will be. Bring that card with you to the polling station.
Like 2017, you can vote at ANY advance poll location across the City. On Election Day, you MUST vote at your assigned poll. Polls will be open from 8AM – 8PM. Results will be available after 9:30PM on the Calgary.ca website.
Due to COVID-19 Elections Calgary will be providing all Electors with information on how to vote by mail-in ballot, and the process of filling in the form correctly. You can request a mail-in ballot, but it must be filled in correctly, and be back at the Elections Calgary before Election Day to be counted. Do not delay in ordering and sending back your ballot.
Finally, while there was the option of voting directly at Elections Calgary Office if an elector was not going to be here for Advance Polls or Election Day, due to COVID-19 restrictions, this option might not be available until the close of nominations after September 20th without reservations. Details will follow, and we will post here as well.
