The city occasionally must declare a snow parking ban, but many are not aware of it since they are out of town and have no way of having someone move their car if parked. If you see the snow parking signs on the light posts, you must move your vehicle. The city offers every Calgarian the opportunity to receive email and text alerts, this is a great program to sign up for. It happens all the time, with residents contacting my office about receiving a ticket or having their car towed because they were not in town and did not know. It makes sense, when you are working out of town, or on a beach you don’t think about winter. Sign up, and if you have a family member or neighbor that can help move your vehicle it will save you a parking ticket or an expensive trip to the towing yard.

This link also allows you to see snow priority routes, and what roads will be plowed completely in snow parking ban.
