On March 17, 2023, Business License Fees are going to be reinstated after a two-year waiver period. The following fees will be reinstated:
• Business license fee (new: $172, renewal: $131);
• Fire inspection fee (new & renewal, from $63 – $208);
• Planning fee ($41); and
• Calgary Police Service ($65)
The reinstatement of the Business License fees will be supported by Planning & Development and Business & Local Economy.
The city removed the fee to help small businesses due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Business license fees are used to fund business license inspectors, licensing approvals, permits and bylaw enforcement.
