Green cart collection switches between seasonal pickup periods to accommodate for changes in volume of yard waste during the year.
- April – October: weekly green cart pickup
- November – March: every other week pickup
This seasonal schedule reflects the yard waste tonnages we see year-round in Calgary. The warmer months lead to increased yard waste which requires more frequent collection service compared to the winter months. At the end of April, green cart collection will return to weekly pickup.
