About the project

As part of the Annual Paving Program, The City of Calgary will begin road maintenance on Crowchild Trail N.W., from Stoney Trail N.W. to 32 Ave N.W. This construction work is essential to ensure the safety and longevity of our roads and sidewalks, helping to prevent more costly and disruptive reconstruction in the future. This year’s scope of work includes asphalt roadway repair and replacement, as well as localized concrete repair and replacement of sidewalks, wheelchair ramps, curbs, barriers, and gutters.

Budget

The construction cost is $7.3 million, which is part of the $40 million Annual Paving Program budget for 2024. It’s important to note that this project will not only improve pavement quality on Crowchild Trail N.W. but also replace sidewalks and wheelchair ramps to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians and other users.
