Calgary Transit

Over the Family Day long weekend, we’ll be adjusting our service hours. On Monday, Feb. 19 we will be operating buses, CTrains, and On Demand on a Sunday level of service. Customers can visit calgarytransit.com for our holiday hours, and use our trip planner to see when their bus is running.

Parking

Enjoy free parking in on-street ParkPlus zones on Monday, Feb. 19. Weekend rates apply at all Calgary Parking parkades and surface lots. Regular rates will be in effect at Calgary Zoo, TELUS Spark and Heritage Park.

The Calgary Parking Contact Centre and Impound Lot will be closed. For more information, please visit Calgary Parking.

Free skating and swimming on Monday, Feb. 19.

Free public skating

Join us from 1 – 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 19, for some free public skating.

Check our arena rules before joining us. Equipment rentals are not available.

 

Free public swimming

Free holiday swims are back. We’re offering free public swimming on Feb. 19 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. and 3 – 4:30 p.m. at these locations:

Due to the popularity of our free swims, we ask that you only attend one time slot. Pools may be cleared at 2:30 to make room for new customers.

Weight rooms will also be open during these times.

Paid public skating at leisure centres

Two paid public skates will be offered on Feb. 19, from 1 – 2:15 p.m.

Check our arena rules before joining us. Equipment rentals are not available.

 

Paid public swimming at leisure centres

Both Southland Leisure Centre and Village Square Leisure Centre will offer paid public swimming on Feb. 19, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Regular admission applies.

 

Family Day hours of operation

All indoor pools, fitness centres and arenas (except for those mentioned earlier in this email),  arts centres, and the Calgary Soccer Centre will be closed on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024.

Day camps during the school break

Spots are still available for day camps while kids take a break from school during Teacher’s Convention.

Dates: Thursday, Feb. 15, & Friday, Feb. 16, 2024

Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Ages: 5 – 12 years old

Cost: $52.25 – $55 per day

  • Outdoor Adventures at South Glenmore Park
  • Outdoor Adventures at Confederation Park

Sport Calgary’s All Sport One City

Come try a new sport for FREE. From Feb. 10 – 19, various locations across the city will be offering opportunities to try out a new activity including:

  • 🏊aqua fitness

Sean Chu

Sean Chu arrived in Calgary from Taiwan in 1985 speaking not a word of English, and within 7 years he was a sworn officer with the Calgary Police Service. From that point on Sean worked with the Calgary Police Service as on Officer for 21 years in a number of roles until 2013.
