The infrastructure that we use every day in new communities is partially paid for through off-site levies. The current Off-site Levies Bylaw was approved by Council in 2016, to make sure it stays current The City is updating it.
The City created a new calculation for the off-site levies rate, in consultation with some members of the development industry. The new calculation accommodates a shift in Calgary’s infrastructure needs and costs and responds to changes in the economy and pace of development. Information about the new calculation and the draft levy rates for 2024 can be found on the link below.

Sean Chu arrived in Calgary from Taiwan in 1985 speaking not a word of English, and within 7 years he was a sworn officer with the Calgary Police Service. From that point on Sean worked with the Calgary Police Service as on Officer for 21 years in a number of roles until 2013.
