I wanted to share this information, because every year the Ward office get emails and calls from Calgarians who need help, but failed to meet the deadlines set out by the city to review, and if there are issues to ask for a review. The key dates are below, I cannot stress this enough that there is a 7% penalty added if not paid.

If you need help to pay, there is help under the Property Tax Assistance Program. There are certain requirements, and while this is about helping those struggling, this does not alter your property tax obligation. Click here for more information.

There is also a Seniors Property Tax Deferral Program, managed by the Province. For all that information, click here.

Payment Options

You can pay it in one lump sum at the City Hall on the 2nd floor with the cashiers. I however recommend people sign up to the TIPP program, where it it is a monthly fee, like a condo feed, so that at the end of the year you are not having to pay a large sum, and this program helps you budget better.

For all options how to pay, and if you think TIPP is a program that would work for you, click here.

You can also pay through your bank, and that can be done online, or at your bank, but you will need the city property tax information that is located on the bill you would have received via the mail.
