CALGARY – The April 22 Public Hearing on citywide rezoning is entering its third week and The City of Calgary would like to share the most recent schedule. There will be no meetings during the weekend, and the meeting will resume on Monday, May 6, 2024. Please be aware that the schedule may be adjusted as needed, based on the direction of City Council.

As the Public Hearing is approaching completion, Members of the public who wish to speak to Council at the Public Hearing are encouraged to register to speak as soon as possible, either online at calgary.ca/publicsubmissions, or in person at the registration desk located in the Municipal Building Atrium. The City encourages registered speakers to follow the livestream at calgary.ca/watchlive or the live agenda at calgary.ca/agenda to follow the progress of the meeting and to see which panels are speaking.

This is the largest Public Hearing that The City has ever held, with 992 speakers registered at last count as of 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3.

Sean Chu

Sean Chu arrived in Calgary from Taiwan in 1985 speaking not a word of English, and within 7 years he was a sworn officer with the Calgary Police Service. From that point on Sean worked with the Calgary Police Service as on Officer for 21 years in a number of roles until 2013.
