Below is information from the City of Calgary’s website on TIPP. This is a great program for everyone, it helps with budgeting throughout the year, and makes paying property taxes easier and less stressful then paying a large bill each August. Calgarians will have a 7.8% increase this year in their property taxes, Council voted 9-6 and as always I voted against this unneeded high tax increase.

TIPP is The City’s most popular property tax payment method. With TIPP, you pay the same amount as your annual property tax bill. But instead of paying one large lump sum payment in June, smaller monthly payments automatically come out of your bank the first day of every month.  Smaller monthly payments help you save time and money by making your budgeting easier and removing the risk of late payment penalties.

What you need to sign up for TIPP:

Your TIPP agreement contains unique property tax information specific to your property. Through TIPP online, your customized agreement will be processed automatically. Once you submit, you will receive an email confirming your enrolment.

You will need:

  • Your 9-digit Roll Number for each property. This can be found on any property assessment and tax documents.
  • Banking information: institution number, transit number and bank account number.
